People and culture problems are complex.

The solutions don't have to be.

The challenges of our sector are daunting. We get new grants, expand and contract teams quickly, and constantly pivot to keep on pace with the needs of our communities.

Over 16 years, I saw these challenges turn into familiar patterns: high rates of turnover, team conflict, and lack of engagement among staff. All this amidst increasing competition, with funders demanding results.

I knew there was a better way--a way to have strong boundaries but be compassionate, to require excellence while enhancing the employee experience, and to protect the agency's budget by investing in workers.

After many years in nonprofit leadership, the impact of my approach was clear: it dramatically enhanced performance and retention, and it created a safer, more enjoyable workplace environment.

In 2021, the foundation of A Better Place to Work was born. Grounded in the latest business management and organizational psychology research, my relationship-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive method has become an essential tool for my clients, allowing them to rehabilitate and transform their workplaces.

If you're exhausted from dealing with people and culture challenges, there is a solution. I can help you reduce stress and get back to the mission.
